PADI Open Water Course

The PADI Open Water course is the best introductory and most popular SCUBA course available. For flexibility the course is run in two parts and on successful completion of both parts of the course you will be qualified to dive with another certified diver to a maximum depth of 18 meters in conditions that compare with, or are better than, those in which you trained.

Part one - Academics and pool training: Independent home study, using the PADI Open Water manual and DVD together with instructor lead reviews and assessments over two evenings at New Dawn Dive Centre. Additionally, you will master underwater skills whilst having an enjoyable and fun time with your instructor during eight hours of swimming pool time, held locally to New Dawn Dive Centre

Part two Open water training. Four Open water dives over two days. These dives may take place locally in the UK either from our hard boat The New Dawn Diver which is based in Lymington or, in one of the local training sites and off the South coast (weather depending). Alternatively, you may with to finish your course abroad on one of our escorted dive holidays or, you can take a referral certificate enabling you to finish the course off during your own holiday.

However, for those of you who do your Open water course with us, following successful completion we welcome the opportunity to take you on an experience dive where you can gain confidence with your new found skills whilst we come along for support

There is also an option to take the Open Water Course on-line with PADI e-learning and then join in the pool training with us:
